End User License Agreement

The license for the LoreOwl desktop app, and for the add-ons it puts in your games.

Last updated September 26, 2026·Also read Terms of Service and Privacy Policy

The short version. You can install and use the app to make your games. The official add-ons LoreOwl puts into your projects can ship inside your games, commercial or not, with no royalty, and games you have released stay licensed even if you leave. Do not reverse engineer the app or resell it.

1.What this license covers

This End User License Agreement (“EULA”) is between you and LoreOwl (“we”, “us”). It covers the LoreOwl desktop app, its updates, and the official LoreOwl add-ons and SDKs the app places into your game projects (together, the “Software”).

Your account and the cloud services are covered by the Terms of Service, which also apply to your use of the Software. By installing or using the Software, you agree to this EULA.

2.Your license

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the desktop app on computers you own or control, to make and manage games with LoreOwl, for as long as you have a LoreOwl account and follow this EULA and the Terms. What you can do with the app depends on your organization’s plan.

3.Add-ons and SDKs in your games

Some official add-ons become part of your game, for example the Analytics, Feedback and Vault add-ons. For those, you may:

  • include them in your projects and in the games you build from them;
  • distribute them as part of your games, commercially or for free, with no royalty;
  • modify them as needed to integrate them with your game.

You may not distribute them on their own, apart from a game, or present them as your own product.

Games you have already released stay licensed. If your account or this EULA ends, copies of these add-ons inside games you have already distributed remain licensed. Their online features, such as sending analytics to LoreOwl, stop working once the project’s LoreOwl service ends.

Where an official add-on is published under an open-source license, that license applies to it instead, if it gives you more rights.

4.Third-party and open-source components

The Software includes and downloads components made by others, such as Electron, the Lore version control client, community add-ons, and tools and editors from game engine vendors. Each is provided under its own license. Nothing in this EULA limits your rights under those licenses, and you are responsible for following them in the games you ship.

Game engines, storefront tools and other programs the app starts on your computer, such as Godot, Unity, Unreal Engine, steamcmd, butler or Epic’s BuildPatch Tool, are licensed by their makers, not by us.

5.Restrictions

Except where the law allows it regardless of this EULA, you may not:

  • decompile, reverse engineer or disassemble the desktop app;
  • get around plan limits, license checks or security features;
  • rent, lend, sell or sublicense the desktop app;
  • remove or change copyright or license notices.

6.What the app does on your computer

The app reads and writes the project folders you give it. At your request it runs game engines and tools, adds add-ons to projects, syncs files, exports builds and uploads them. It checks for updates and downloads them automatically, and some updates are needed to keep using the cloud services.

The app sends usage analytics and crash reports to help us fix problems. The Privacy Policy explains exactly what they contain.

Back up your work. The app changes files in your projects when you ask it to. Keep copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.

7.Ownership

We own the Software and all rights in it. This EULA gives you a license, not ownership. Your projects and games are yours: we claim no rights in them.

8.Termination

This EULA ends when your account ends, or if you break it. When it ends, stop using the desktop app and uninstall it. The license for add-ons inside games you have already released continues, as described in section 3.

9.Warranty and liability

The Software is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. The disclaimers and limitation of liability in the Terms of Service apply to the Software as well.

10.Export laws

You agree to follow the export and sanctions laws that apply to the Software, and not to use or export it where those laws forbid it.

11.General

This EULA is governed by the laws of India, and the governing law, changes and general sections of the Terms of Service apply to it. If this EULA and the Terms conflict about the Software, this EULA wins.
