FMOD Studio

Search the vault for audio, place it in the Audio Bin, and upload what you made.

What the menu does

A LoreOwl menu in FMOD Studio's menu bar. FMOD scripts cannot draw panels, so each step is a short prompt.

Browse the vault

Search by name, or leave it blank for the most recent. Audio only, since that is what FMOD can use.

Place in the project

Imports the audio into the Audio Bin and marks the project as changed.

Upload audio

Pick one of the project's audio files, give it a name and tags, and upload it.

Your project, your save

LoreOwl never saves the project or builds banks. Run File → Build when you are ready.

Missing files are skipped

Audio that is missing from disk is left out of the list, and you are told how many.

Progress in the Console

Window → Console shows what LoreOwl is doing, line by line.

Sign in once, in the app

No pairing code to type and no token to paste.

When you sign in to the LoreOwl desktop app, it writes a short-lived credential to a file in your user profile, and the LoreOwl menu reads it. Sign out and it is removed.

  • No refresh token is stored, so the file only ever holds a short-lived access token
  • Written in one step, so a host never reads half a file
  • Every host integration uses the same credential, so one sign-in covers all of them

Installing it

From the Integrations page in the LoreOwl app. It finds the app's settings folder for you.

What it installs
loreowl_fmod.js and a loreowl_fmod folder in %LOCALAPPDATA%\FMOD Studio\Scripts.
Versions
FMOD Studio 2.02 and later. One install covers every version. Tested on 2.04.00.
Then
  1. Restart FMOD Studio.
  2. Open a project first. LoreOwl places audio into the open project and uploads from it.
  3. Open the LoreOwl menu and choose “Browse the vault…”.
Custom locations
Add a folder by hand, for example a portable install. Folders you add stay after a rescan.
Uninstalling
Removes only what the install added.

What it does not do

  • No panel or dock. Every step is a prompt.
  • Never saves the project or builds banks for you.
  • A project saved in a folder whose path has characters like & or % can be refused, because FMOD passes paths through the Windows command shell.
  • No version control or file locks in FMOD. Those stay in the desktop app.
  • Needs curl, which comes with Windows 10 and later. About LoreOwl tells you if it is missing.
  • Windows only, because the desktop app that signs it in is.
